From the moment I was interviewed virtually for a position at Blackburn Council as a System Support and Development Officer, I felt at ease and welcome. It was incredibly strange for myself, but in such strange times we have all had to adapt and keep as safe as possible because of the pandemic which is why my interview took place virtually. There was nothing to worry about, as the recruitment process ran perfectly smoothly and before I knew it, I was offered a position as a System Support and Development Officer at Blackburn Council.
My Passion for I.T led me to my current role as a System Support and Development Officer with Blackburn council. Within this role I desire to gain advantageous skills and responsibilities that will benefit me to progress further. I am excited to hone my teamwork skills by working with others and to have the chance to see some glimpses into my future career path. The staff and leadership have all been exceptionally friendly and kind and have made me feel comfortable in my role.
The past 2 months have been hectic due to working in a fast-paced Operational environment which has helped me to build on my ‘Can-do’ attitude. I have learnt and adapted the skills to write work flow documents and building the forms and rules on DCP as well as now attaining the skills to run my fingers through DCP with minimal assistance.
What I hope to accomplish in this job is to expand my skills and competencies as an SSDO and help to maintain DCP reputation and achieve their goals as well as mine.
